GROUP LESSON INFORMATION
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Snowplow Sam 1
Beginner Class for ages 3-6
Standing, proper way to fall & get up,
marching in place, marching forward,
two-foot glide, dip.


Basic 1     
Beginner Class for ages 7-12
March forward, two-foot glide, dip,
forward swizzles, backward swizzles,
snowplow stop.


Basic 2
Forward one-foot glide, backward
two-foot glide, backward swizzles,
two-foot turn, moving snowplow stop,
forward alternating 1/2 swizzles.


Basic 3  
Forward Stroking, forward pumps on
circle, moving two-foot turns,
backward one-foot glides, forward
slalom, two-foot spin


Basic 4
Forward crossovers, forward edges
on circle, forward outside three-turns,
forward slalom, two-foot spin.


Basic 5
Backward edges on circle, backward
crossovers, beginning one-foot spin,
hockey stop, side toe hop.


Basic 6
Forward inside three-turns, backward
to forward transitions, t-stops, lunge,
spiral, bunny hops.


Basic 7
Forward Mohawks, backward to
forward transitions, ballet jump,
backward crossover to edge, forward
inside pivots.


Basic 8
Moving forward outside and inside
three-turns, combination move,
one-foot spin, waltz jump, mazurka.


Freekskate 1-6
Jumps, Spins and Moves in the Field


Synchronized Skating
For Basic 4 skaters & above
Skaters will work as a team to learn
the basic hold, formations and
transitions.

Beginner Hockey
Beginner class for ages 4-12
Elements from Basic 1-4 and basic
stickhandling. Equipment included.
No previous experience is required.


Skills, Drills & Stickhanlding

with previous experience maximizing
skating performance and game play.


Beginner Adult
Beginner class for ages 13 & up

PROGRAM POLICIES & PROCEDURES
USFS MEMBERSHIP FEE:
Elite Skating is a Basic Skills Association Member of US Figure Skating. In turn, ALL Learn to Skate/Beginner Hockey
Program Participants are subject to a yearly membership fee of $12.50 to US Figure Skating.  USFS membership is required
and is effective from  July 1 - June 30 of each year, no prorates.

REFUND POLICY:
There is a $20 fee for all returned checks. Refunds will be given up to the first lesson only and will incur the cost of the first
class as well as a $15 processing fee.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!

CLASS SIZE:  
Classes will be kept at an 10 skater maximum per instructor for Snowplow Sam 1 and Adult classes and an 11 skater
maximum per instructor for Snowplow Sam 2 -Basic 8 classes.  Assistants and Junior Instructors will be used when available.  
Sometimes classes need to be combined due to low enrollment.  If this is the case, every effort will be made to add additional
assistance to these classes to ensure that all curriculum is introduced.

MAKE-UP CLASSES:
Up to one (1) or two (2) make-up classes are permitted if there is another class available!  Make-up classes may not be
available at all locations
. Make-up classes MAY NOT be carried over into other sessions - no exceptions! Make-ups are
NOT to be completed the first week due to class organization or the last week due to testing.

PRACTICE ICE:  
Group lessons are not held on a public skate session, therefore practice ice will be provided at the end of the rink for use
during group lesson time only.  
Practice ice is restricted to participants only!!  Please, no parents, friends or siblings will be
allowed to use this unless enrolled in group lessons,
no exceptions!  Practice ice may be used on any lesson day, regardless
of your registered class day.  Normal skate rental fees will apply.

SKATE RENTAL:
Skate rental is either $2 or $3 per week (depending on the rink) and is not included with the cost of the class.  Skate rental
must be paid for in advance along with the class registration for the Fishers location and directly to the rink at the Pepsi
Coliseum and Perry locations.

DRESS:
Please make sure that your child is dressed warmly, with long pants, a coat and gloves.  Make sure that clothing is not too
restrictive that they are not able to move around with relative ease.

BEGINNER HOCKEY:  
Beginner hockey programs will include equipment in the cost of the class as follows:  Skates, Helmet, Hockey Pants, Shin
Pads, Elbow Pads, Shoulder Pads, Hockey Socks, Jersey and Stick.  ALL Equipment MUST be returned at the end of the
session or participants will be charged a $175 fee!

PRIVATE LESSONS:
Sometimes the need for one-on-one training is helpful to assist your skater in mastering a particularly hard skill or advance
at a quicker pace.  Private lessons may be available on group lesson practice ice for
participants only and are based on
Instructor availability.  Private lessons will incur an additional cost made payable to the Instructor directly.
